# 8.6.0 — 28 May 2026

What changed in Dispel in the release of 28 May 2026.

**Dispel Zero Trust Engine 8.6.0**, including Orchestrator 1.13.0 and Session Manager 1.5.0.

{% hint style="info" %}
[**Customer Impact Score: 2**](https://legal.dispel.com/support/maintenance-windows#customer-impact-scores) — visible changes and new features, without a substantial change to the workflows most people use.
{% endhint %}

## New features and improvements

* [File transfer](https://docs.dispel.com/build-your-environment/infrastructure/device-management/device-file-upload-download) over SFTP accepts a private key as well as a password, and upload and download each carry their own configuration on the device. (DIS-20312, DIS-20116, DIS-20531)
* The SMB and SFTP forms on a [file share](https://docs.dispel.com/build-your-environment/infrastructure/device-management/file-share) have been tidied: the picker reads more clearly, and a username can be up to 64 characters. (DIS-20516, DIS-20705)
* An organization can be [deleted](https://docs.dispel.com/integrate-and-administer/settings/delete-organization). (DIS-20097)
* **Allow group to approve access requests** has been removed from facility groups. Approvers are managed [per facility](https://docs.dispel.com/connect-to-your-systems/access-windows/manage-access-request-approvers). (DIS-20321)

## Bug fixes

* A virtual desktop user with more than one facility could find the facility picker unavailable, and could be redirected away from the access page before it loaded. (DIS-20667, DIS-20657)
* The password reset form could redirect before the reset was submitted. (DIS-20612)
* A Browser Connect session popped out into its own window lost the details panel and the file transfer panel. (DIS-20416)
* A file that failed an extension check was rejected without saying which extension was at fault. (DIS-20220)
* Control of a session could be lost after returning from a new tab or window. (DIS-20417)
* **General bug and security fixes** across permission handling on role changes, group access propagation and deletion, log scoping, the access request summary, the file transfer configuration controls, and Topology's view selector.

## Closed Beta

Switched on for selected organizations while we finish it.

* **Shared accounts.** An account used by more than one person signs in with a brokered code sent to the person using it, so the session is attributed to them rather than to the account. (DIS-20468)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.dispel.com/changelog/releases/2026-05-28.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
